The old style 1 and 20 Meg resistor end bands ocasionally break. Replacing the end band may

not fix the problem. In other words, removing the old end band and installing a new end band

(or removing the old end band and then reinstalling the old end bad) may cause the resistor

to fail.

Measure the resistor with a meter to ensure that it is working properly if the end band

is removed or replaced.
